Proud to say I just completed the uploading and submitting of 29 JOM writing contest entries including fiction, non-fiction and poetry. I am so proud of all of the students who participated! It's time to add the next greatest family event to your schedule. The Smiles & Styles Family dance sponsored by the Maryetta cheerleaders, has been scheduled for April 10,2026. The prepay cost for a family of up to 5 is $30 or $40 at the door. Prepay forms have been printed and will be handed out next week.

Due to the latest weather forecast and to ensure safety for all students, families and staff, Maryetta will be dismissing at 12:30 today, Friday January 23, 2026.

Due to the anticipated weather timeline for winter conditions, all afterschool programs for tomorrow (Friday, January 23, 2026) will be canceled. All students will need to be picked up on or before 3:15 pm.
This will allow all students, families, and Maryetta staff to travel home safely ahead of the approaching weather. Thank you for your understanding. Please stay safe and warm.

Maryetta school is closely monitoring the upcoming weather forecast. As a precautionary measure, students have already brought home their instructional packets and materials. These packets will only be required if the district transitions to virtual learning days.

Maryetta School Awarded Federal Grant to Launch Indigenous STEAM Program
STILWELL, OKLAHOMA – Maryetta School has been awarded an Indian Demonstration grant from the U.S. Department of Education to implement the RISE (Resources of Indigenous STEAM Education) program, a five-year initiative serving 675 students in grades PK3 through 8th grade.
With 82% of students being members of the Cherokee Tribe, the program will integrate Indigenous knowledge with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education while expanding early childhood services and college readiness support.
"This grant represents a transformative opportunity for our students and community," said Rita Bunch, Project Director and member of the Cherokee Nation. "The RISE program will create educational experiences that are both academically rigorous and culturally sustaining.” Maryetta Superintendent Lori Means added, "We are thrilled to bring the RISE program to our students and families. This grant will provide resources and opportunities to our students while preparing them for future success, we are investing in the next generation of leaders and innovators.”
