Round 2 of the hyperbolic paraboloid challenge with 4th and 5th graders! Success! (mostly) 😆 #pringlechallenge

Ever heard of a hyperbolic paraboloid?? It's a saddle shaped surface defined by two sets of parallel lines that are not parallel to each other. Both concave and convex its design provides amazing strength. It is quite an amazing mathematical/geometrical shape! My 6-8th grade group in extended care were challenged with making a circle out of Pringles - which ironically are hyperbolic paraboloids. No glue, no tape, just the structure of the chip itself. Only one mastered the complete circle in our allotted time. We had so much fun with this challenge!

Second grade learned a new game in PE, it's called Ice Cream relay.

Parents, If you DO NOT want your child to have a vision screening done at school, please sign the form that was sent home today. All students in Kg-8th grade will get their eyes screened, If form is not signed and returned.

Maryetta School would like to send out a special “thank you” to Cherokee Nation Councilman Joshua Sam for visiting our E-Sports classroom and supporting our program. The partnership of Cherokee Nation and Mr Sam is a blessing to our school!
