We are pleased to announce that Ms. Huval's class received a $1,000 Classroom Enhancement grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation, administered by the Oklahoma City Community Foundation! This grant help supply 3 major projects in her social studies curriculum. The first project completed was the Government project. For this project students created/voted for bills, wrote presidential campaign speeches, and participated in a mock election. The students were very engaged in discussion, when it came to creating bills for their recess playground. They had great ideas and learned a little about the process of bills becoming laws. They took part in a mock election for class president, and even got to vote and receive their "I Voted" sticker. If you are looking for an easy application process to enhance your classroom, I highly recommend the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation. Today’s games start at 4:00 with 5/6. It will be the travel teams suiting up. We will have the 8th grade night before the start of the 7/8 girls game. The 7/8 travel team will suit up for the game. Parents when you arrive let the worker at the door know and you get in free. I would estimate that you need to be there by around 5:30. There will be no cross country practice today after school, 01-13-2025.
Parents and guardians: Cherokee Nation is here this morning to do fluoride treatments. If your student has not turned in a permission form for the fluoride treatment, they can turn one in tomorrow. Cherokee Nation will be here again tomorrow, they can receive the treatment if their permission forms are turned in by then.
