Cherokee Nation Healthy Nation has partnered with the National Indian Women's Health Resource Center to provide a program called Draw the Line/Respect the Line.  This is a program that will be taught to 6-8th graders.  The program involves setting personal limits, abstinence, pregnancy, among other various subjects. Parents have an opportunity to meet with and preview the curriculum and videos with representatives from Maryetta Public Schools, Cherokee Nation and the National Women's Health Resource Center on August 27, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the iCAN Office.

Thank you, James Patterson!

James Patterson, best selling author,  made a pledge of 1.75 million dollars to school libraries!  The money was divided into grants that were applied for by schools all across the country.  Maryetta School was chosen as one of the recipients and James Patterson gave $5000 to our school library.  Maryetta was one of only two schools in Oklahoma who received the award!  Scholastic partnered with James Patterson in the awards by providing book club bonus points to match the money awarded.
We are very grateful for the graciousness of Mr. Patterson and Scholastic for providing grants to help build school libraries.
